Color Me Christmas - Stampin' Up!

Color Me Christmas was one of the stamp sets used in an on-line class that I participated in.  It was fun trying out some beginner watercoloring and then trying it out on my club members!  I changed out the image for the tree, also in the Color Me Christmas set.  Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack allows you to make multiples using the same design of paper.  It's a great value for your dollar.

The sentiment is from Christmas Messages.

There are five fun images in Color Me Christmas Item #131745. $19.95 (clear) or Item #131742 $25.95 (wood)

The sentiment is from Christmas Messages Item #131793 $25.95 (clear) or Item #131790 $35.95 (wood)

Both Sets are from the Holiday Happiness 2013 catalogue available until Jan. 2, 2014.

Joyful Tidings!

Festive Flurry Ornament Kit - Stampin' Up!

I needed a couple of quick ways to show the use of the Festive Flurry Ornament Kit.  I only had one white gift bag so I made a quick little panel and called it done!  Now, this would have looked much better with a larger bottle to showcase the ornament, but alas ….  a small bottle of Bailey's was all I had!  I think I got that sweet idea from Pinterest!  Sure dresses up a bottle nicely.  Great to bring as a hostess gift at a Christmas dinner.

Christmas Blessings!

Festive Flurry - Love & Joy - Winter Frost - Stampin' Up!

Festive Flurry and Love & Joy were used on this easy peasy card.  My background paper is from the Winter Frost Paper Pack.  Love & Joy was embossed in silver embossing powder.

I participated in an on-line class but did not have the stamp set they used so I substituted with Love & Joy.  I tried it out in Island Indigo Ink but I think my stamp pad was a little too juicy because some of the ink bled into the white paper.  That's how I decided to try the silver embossing powder and I think it  turned out great!

Thanks for stopping by!

Festive Flurry - Stampin' Up!

I've gotten a lot of use out of the Festive Flurry stamp set and co-ordinating framelits.  They are fun to layer and with the assortment of snowflake stamp sizes the possibilities are endless.

I used the Stripes embossing folder, silver glitter paper and Teeny Tiny Wishes to complete this card.  My Designer Series Paper is from a retired paper pack as is the Not Quite Navy card stock I used here.

It's a busy time of year and hope you are also busy creating wonderful hand made cards, scrap booking pages or gifts!

Fa la la la la!!

Credits:  This card is based on one I had saved from the net and changed it up to suit my supplies.  There was no name to give credit but her card was lovely!  Thank you!

Joyful Christmas on Vellum - Stampin' Up!

The Joyful Christmas stamp set creates such wonderful cards.  Often cutting is involved but is so worth the effort.

You can save 30% off this stamp set during the 2013 Holiday Sale.    Order by Dec 2, 2013.  Regular price is $20.95 (clear) Sale price is $14.67.  That's a savings of $6.28!!

The flower image was embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder on Stampin' Up!'s vellum card stock.  Colour was applied to the back of the vellum with a sponge dauber.   There are two layers of the flower.  I used the full image and also created a second layer by cutting the inside of the flower image and used dimensionals to pop it up on the main flower.  It's quite easy to cut out the flower pieces once embossed as the embossing gives a nice cutting edge to follow.

The 1/8" silver taffeta ribbon adds a touch of bling and of course the Frosted Finishes - embellishments adds a whole lot of bling!

I made a few of these to send out this year!  It was also a class card back in August!  Yikes...how time flies!

Have fun creating your Christmas projects.

Happy Stamping!

Chalkboard Technique - Seasonal Sayings - Washi Tape - Stampin' Up!

The chalkboard technique is not only fun to do but also creates a unique and fun card.  This card uses great Stampin' Up! products and a great technique!

My banner was made with the Season of Style Washi Tape collection and a piece of floral wire.  The wire made it easy to wrap the tape around and move along for easy placement.  Just snip the pennant ends after all the pieces are on.  A glue dot at each end of the pennant held it in place.

The Christmas stamp from Seasonal Sayings was embossed in white embossing powder.  Chalk lines were made with the chalk marker from the 2013 Holiday catalogue and white craft inked was lightly sponged on for the chalkboard look.

The chalkboard technique has been floating around for a bit now and I'm so happy that I finally gave it a try!

Hope you are busy stamping your Christmas creations!!

Noel Christmas - November - My Paper Pumpkin

My Paper Pumpkin....a monthly paper crafting subscription available at

https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en-ca/

If you'd like more info on this subscription, please let me know!

It's a surprise each month and I LOVE this month's surprise!!  The first sample card is pretty much how they have it explained.  The second one I changed up by cutting the card base to a 5.25 X 4 inch piece and adhering it to a real red card base.  I used the 1/4 inch strip I cut off to add to the inside of the card...you can see a "titch" of it in the photo below.

The card bases in the kit are white on the inside; whereas the front was designed in Very Vanilla. So on the second card I could make the inside co-ordinate with the front.

Either way I think they are both super cute!

I used less of the garland than stipulated, so I will have lots left over for other projects!  It is so adorable I'm sure I'll have no problem coming up with ways to use it!

Hope you are busy getting creative during your Christmas preparations!

Happy Stamping!

Perfect Blend - Stampin' Up!

I can't help buying any set related to coffee and/or tea!  I think it might have something to do with my addiction!  But I do love this set!

Papers were from Winter Frost and This and That Epic Day.    My card base and ribbon is in the new Baked Brown Sugar In Colors.  Yummy!  You'll love the ribbon.  It stretches and could also be used on your sewing projects.   I used the little heart from the Owl Builder Punch and the little flower is from the Itty Bitty Punches.  One of the new Candy Dots adorns the little flower.  They really do beat punching holes and using brads!!

It's coffee time!

Everyday Occasions - Stampin' Up!

A fun new card kit is here and I've made all 20 of them!  These were surprisingly fun to make.  I couldn't stop until they were all done!  It took me about 5 hours.

Your kit comes with ALL supplies required to make 20 cards except adhesives and scissors/trimmer (Only 19 shown here; I forgot to photograph one of the Congratulations cards)

I made all the cards according to the directions provided.  You can change things up if you like!  I just wanted to show what they looked like according to Stampin' Up!'s directions.   I messed up on the stamping of the card in the upper right above, so it's not as as clear as it should be !

All pieces are die cut with some trimming involved to make pieces desired length.

Cards are of varying sizes from 3" X 3"  to 5 1/2" to 4 1/4"

Your kit includes two Stampin' Spots and a clear acrylic block.  Seven awesome stamps are included.  There is also a "Made for you  by me" stamp which is not shown.  You now have a set of stamps to use on future projects!

Envelopes are provided!

Everyday Occasions Product #134797

At $36.95 it's a great choice for the beginner or those that love the ease of a kit!  A great choice to give as a gift too.

My Paper Pumpkin - Welcome Kit

My Paper Pumpkin is a paper craft subscription that you can receive each month.  I have been subscribing since the beginning....about 7 months now but am just starting to post now!  Scandalous I know!!!

This is the 1st kit which is the Welcome Kit.  This is the kit that everyone receives for their kit.  My first card is the card design that is provided with your first kit.  It comes with everything you need to make 4 cards except for the adhesives (glue dots and tape runner in this case).  I added the baker's twine myself...didn't want any naked buttons on my card  :)

So that means you get two stamps, card stock, patterned paper, self adhesive stickers, Stampin' Spot and buttons.  Also included in this Welcome Kit is a clear acrylic block that can be used on all future kits.

For the following cards I resorted to Pinterest for some fun alternate ways to use the contents of this kit.  I only wanted to make cards using the supplies that came with the package so you can see that you can change things up a bit.

These kits are surprisingly fun!!  They are perfect for:

Those that want to whip up a few cards in minutes;  note:  kits are not always cards, sometimes they are a fun little 3D project.  Future posts will show a couple of samples (mini album & mini party banner)

Those that are new to stamping and don't have many supplies;

or those that love to create hand made projects but just can't commit to purchasing all the wonderful supplies...just yet!!

FYI:  You can put a hold on your subscription at any time or you can cancel at any time by making your changes before the 10th of each month.  Kits are shipped around the 15th monthly.

Go to

www.mypaperpumpkin.com

and look around...make sure to change to "Canada" so the correct pricing shows.  I can set this all up for you when you are ready to join.

Phew...that's a lot of info!  Contact me if you need further clarification.

Happy Stamping!

Walk in the Wild - Stampin' Up!

I live in Northwestern Ontario where moose sightings are quite common.  So it's natural to "have" to get this set!

I needed an easily reproducible card for a swap I was participating in.  The card has a simple look to it, however, I did use four stamp sets so I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of each image.  With four stamp sets I didn't want to be making mistakes every turn when making 25 of the same card!

Neutrals Candy Dots were used on the Woodgrain strip.  This card should go through the mail quite easily without needing extra postage.

Here are the images I used to create this masculine northern card!

Walk in the Wild 130354(w) $24.95; 130357(c) $17.95

Countryside - Masculine Card

Countryside is a charming stamp set with five images that really suit themselves to masculine cards.  I just had to have this set when it first came out!  Sadly it is retiring at the end of the month along with the Comfort Cafe DSP that was used as my background paper.

I wanted to add a little bling to my masculine card so I used the small soda pop tops that are available in the Spring catalogue.  I just flattened it with my Big Shot, punched a 1/2" circle from the co-ordinating Comfort Cafe papers and added Crystal Effects.

My sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners

I often stamp a little inside the card to make it more complete.   All I need to do is decide who it will go to then I can stamp a
sentiment on the inside.

Here are some cutting measurements:

Base:  8 1/2" X 11" scored at 4 1/4"
Mat:  Soft Suede 5" X 3 3/4"
Background:  Comfort Cafe DSP 4 3/4" X 3 1/2"
Image:  Watercolour Paper 3 1/2" X 1 3/4"
Mat:  Midnight Muse 3 5/8" X 1 7/8"
Mat:  Soft Suede 3 7/8: X 2 1/8"

Countryside
116998 (w) $27.95
120495 (c) $20.95
only available until May 31, 2013

Thoughts and Prayers - Heat Embossing on Vellum

I've been using the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers for a few years now and I still love it!  This card shows heating embossing on vellum and our vellum card stock is perfect for heat embossing!  It stays flat with no warping.

Stampin' Up!'s new foam stamp pads are nice and juicy, so the ink stays wet long enough to add the embossing powder.  On this butterfly from Papillon Potpourri I used Midnight Muse and clear embossing powder.  It was punched out with the Elegant Butterfly punch.

The background was made with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and highlighted with a sponge dauber and some Midnight Muse ink.

Here are the deets for the current 2012 - 2013 catalogue.  All items except the Lacey Brocade embossing folder will be carried over into the new catalogue.

Vellum Fun Flowers - Dry Embossing on Vellum

Here's a gorgeous flower made from Stampin' Up!'s card stock vellum and the Fun Flowers Bigz Die.   The weight of this vellum is perfect for dry embossing because it doesn't tear or rip easily.  The fun veins on the petals were made with the Spider Embossing Folder (retiring with this catalogue)

I used the Tangerine Tango DSP from Summer Smooches (retiring also)  The fun fabric button is an already retired product (appropriately called Summer Smooches Fabric Buttons) but I thought they were perfect for this flower!

I used the sentiment stamp from Field Flowers and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

So give your Big Shot a work out and make some fun flowers!!

Swallowtail on Vellum - Stamping on Vellum

This beautiful butterfly image is called Swallowtail and was stamped with Stazon Black Ink onto Stampin' Up!'s card stock vellum.  I used sponge daubers on the reverse of the paper to quickly add colour to my image.  Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise were the colours I chose, but the combinations are endless!
Item #129216 (c) $16.95
Item #129213 (w) $21.95
It's on page 18 of the Spring Catalogue!  It has quickly become one of my favourites.  Look for it in the new catalogue coming out June 1, 2013.

Happy Stamping!

Button Buddies

Button Buddies - a fun little set found on page 40 of the main catalogue.  Unfortunately it did not make it into the new catalogue and is only available until May 31, but everything else looks good to return.  I used the Delicate Designs Folder as a background border and Finishing Touches Edgelit to create some visual interest on the side.  The In Color Dahlias worked great on the vase!  The ribbon is the stitched Gumball Green.  Glad it is sticking around for another year.  That was one colour I wasn't too sure about until I started using it and I love it now!

Sentiment is from Petite Pairs (page 134)

The new catalogue is sure to bring some fun new stamps and accessories!
